1. The very first step: Changing Nameservers

The first thing you need to do once your hosting account is set up is to change your domain DNS to the name servers you received in your welcome email.

Nameservers typically look something like this:

NS1.example.com
NS2.example.com

Nameserver changes can only be done through your domain registrar. Most have a simple tool so you can update them yourself. All you do is replace the current nameservers with the two you received in your welcome email.

Each company has a different procedure for changing nameservers. The following article lists step by step guides for nameserver changes at some popular registrars. If you log in to your registrar and don't see a domain control option for changing nameservers, contact them to find out what their procedure is.

After your nameserver changes have been made it can take up to 48 hours for your DNS to propagate worldwide. During this initial period, routers all over the world are updating their cache. This can cause your site to be online sporadically until the transition is complete.

If after two days your site is still not working properly please contact us immediately.

Please note that if you registered your domain through us your nameservers are already set to ours so you can omit this step!
