Anonymous FTP and HotLinking

Anonymous FTP

Every hosting account comes with an anonymous FTP account that enables public users to upload files to your website. We recommend that you disable this option in your cPanel.

  • In your cPanel, click on the "Anonymous FTP" icon
  • Uncheck the box next to "allow anonymous access to ftp.yourdomain.com"
  • Click save settings

HotLinking

Hotlinking is a form of stealing bandwidth and we recommend that you disable hotlinking in your cPanel.

  • In your cPanel, click on the "HotLink Protection" icon in the Security menu
  • Click on the box to enable HotLink protection
  • Optional- enter any other domains you might want to allow HotLinking
  • Click submit
