About Google Sitemaps
|
A Google Sitemap is completely different than a regular site map, which is part of your website and is there to help ease your visitor's site navigation. A Google Sitemap is an XML document file submitted to Google and stored in the root directory of your site. With a Google Sitemap, you're basically telling Google, "here are the pages on my site that I want you to notice". It's a very simple way to increase your Google ranking. Anyone can make and submit their own Google Sitemap by using Google's Webmaster tools and accessing their cPanel. In order to successfully submit a Sitemap, you first have to sign up for Google Webmaster Service and verify your ownership of the site using one of a few different methods Google provides. For those with tech experience this is an easy process. But it can also be intimidating or confusing to many, so ANA offers this one-time service for $60. Any site hosted on the ANA server is eligible for this service. If you host your site elsewhere, please check with us to see if your site is eligible. Please note that in order to put the Sitemap into action, ANA requires one-time access to your cPanel or FTP account. If you want to implement it yourself, we'll send you the XML file. Should you have trouble anywhere along the way, submit a Support Ticket. |
